課程概述 |
This is two-credit course which provides an overview of sustainable management in the hospitality business from the perspectives of history, operations, and future trends. It intends to assist students in acquiring insights on (1) energy/water/ waste management, (2)green purchasing, (3) eco-design (green design), and (4) green marketing. The course will allow students to acquire additional knowledge of green operations (sustainable operation) through in-class discussions on the relevant cases concerning sustainable operations. |
課程目標 |
Upon the completion of this course, students should obtain the following competencies:
1. Be able to identify the schemes of energy/water/waste management, green purchases, green design, and green marketing.
2. Be prepared to explain the threats and opportunities associated with green operations in the context of hospitality.
3. Be ready to work with colleagues/classmates as a team and identify firms that are having successful green operations and understand the relevant strategies used by the firms.
